🔹Famous Buildings-

  • Quwat-ul-Islam Mosque - First Mosque of India in Delhi
  • Dhai Din Ka Jhopra- A mosque in Ajmer
  • Qutub Minar- Qutub-ud-Din Aibak started construction of Qutub Minar in Delhi, which is dedicated to a famous sufi saint of the time Qutubuddin Bakhtiyar Qaki.

🔹Death- In 1210 A.D. when he was playing Chaugan( Polo like game) at Lahore, he fell from his horse, badly injured and died.

Aram Shah (1210-1211 A.D.)

🔹Second king of Slave Dynasty

🔹Killed by Iltutmish, at this time Iltutmish was governor of Badayun.

Shamsuddin Iltutmish (1211- 1236 A.D.)



🔹Real Founder of Delhi Sultanate.

🔹Slave of  Slaves- He was a slave of Qutubuddin Aibak who later become son-in-law of Aibak.

🔹Tribe- Ilbari Turk

🔹Moved his capital to Delhi from Lahore.

🔹Started Chalisa/Chahalgani- Group of 40 slaves, which was established by him.

🔹Started Iqta System first time in India.

🔹Coins- Iltutmish introduced pure Arabic coins in India.

  • Jeetal- Copper Coin

🔹Tomb of Sultan Garhi- Dellhi- First Islamic Tomb built in 1231 A.D. for Prince Nasiruddin Mahmud who was eldest son of Iltutmish. Nasiruddin Mahmud died in 1229 A.D. and Tomb was built by Iltutmish in the memory of his beloved son.

🔹Death- In 1236 A.D. and was buried in Qutub Complex in Mehrauli, Delhi.
